It was discovered that, when patients under acute phase allergic rhinitis were treated with Chinese herbal formulas (Xin Yi San + Xiao Qing Long Tang + Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang) for 3 months, the ailment could be improved by way of adjustment of lymph corpuscle and neutrophilia leucocyte.
When the clinical symptoms improved from acute phase into recovery phase, patients were randomly divided into two groups for further study. Treatment group was treated with Chinese herbal formula “Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang”, control group was treated with “Ping Wei San”. After a treatment period of 2 months, the results were analyzed.
For the treatment group, patients who took “Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang” improved significantly based on the index of clinical symptoms. Results showed that “Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang” could improve clinical symptoms associated with acute phase allergic rhinitis.
